Virgie Teuton

November 11, 1908 — May 31, 2008

Mrs. Teuton was born and reared in Chester County, the Estes Community, the daughter of the late Norman Ree and Annie Wardlow Freeman. She graduated Chester County High School in 1926 and was the Chester County Cotton Picking Champion for both men and women. She was married to Hubert Burnel (H.B.) Teuton in 1927. They made their home most of their married life in Memphis where she worked at Memphis Country Club, Rosewood Nursing Home and Tresvant Manor. While in Memphis they were active in the Forest Hills Church of Christ. Mr. Teuton died in 1968 and she continued to live in Memphis until 1998 when she moved to Hermitage to make her home with her son, Bobby. She was a member of the Old Hickory Church of Christ near Hermitage. She was keeping her own home and very active and independent until two months ago.



She is survived by a son Bobby Teuton and wife Norma of Hermitage, a sister Elsie Shank of Detroit, MI, two grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.



Graveside services will be 3 PM Monday at Woodlawn Cemetery in Chester County with Dr. Billy Smith officiating, Casey Chapel of Henderson in charge of arrangements.
