Virgie Sullivan Smith was born July 14, 1910 in McNairy County, Tennessee the daughter of the late Oceola L. and Nancy Ann Plunk Sullivan.
She was united in marriage to Joe Smith on September 5, 1930. Mr. Smith preceded her in death on July 28, 1995.
She was a member of the Beauty Hill Pentecostal Church in Bethel Springs. She loved to go fishing, loved dogs, liked to watch wrestling and worked with her husband, farming.
Mrs.Smith departed this life on September 14, 2007 in Adamsville, Tennessee at the age of 97 Years, 1 Month, 22 Days. She is survived by two daughters, Wilma Hill and husband Tom of Adamsville, TN, Thelma Smith of Selmer, TN; three sisters, Tina Mae Been of Millington, TN, Vade Bell New of Bethel Springs, TN, and Freddie Pauline Brown of Bethel Springs, TN; a brother, Dewey Earnest Harrison Sullivan of Bethel Springs, TN; six grandchildren, Thomas Rickey Smith, Frankie Allen Smith, Glen David Smith, Lonnie Doyle Inman, Janice Faye Meek, and Rafford Wayne Inman; ten great-grandchildren, Roger Dale Smith, Fonda Gail Smith, Chasity Inman, Wendy Inman, Cody Inman, Angel Reaves, Zachary Grany Smith, Mary Elizabeth Smith, Kalip Cain, and Cheyenne Smith; six great great grandchildren, Ty Christain Smith, Laken Lindley Smith, Cala, Lauren, Carter and Madeline Reaves.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs.Smith was preceded in death by a sister, Beulah Etter Sullivan; two brothers, Elmer States Sullivan and Willie Edward Sullivan.
