Viola Wilkerson

Viola Shubert Wilkerson of Waynesboro, TN was born August 28, 1913 in Savannah, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Samuel Noah and Vinnie Copeland Shubert. She was united in marriage to Dan Wilkerson on October 10, 1933 and he preceded her in death on January 15, 1995.
Mrs. Wilkerson was a homemaker and a member of the Mooring Methodist Church. She did volunteer work for Reelfoot Rural Ministries.
Mrs. Wilkerson departed this life on Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at Wayne Medical Center in Waynesboro, Tennessee at the age of 96 Years, 7 Months, 2 Days.
She is survived by daughters, Frances Ann Wood, Saulsbury, TN, Mary Ellen Brison and Betty Joyce Casteel both of Waynesboro, TN, Patsy Gail Johnson of Savannah, TN; 19 Grandchildren, 16 Great-Grandchildren, 17 Great-Great-Grandchildren; a sister, Nora Victory of Sheffield, AL; nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Wilkerson was preceded in death by two sons, Dougal and James Loyd Wilkerson; brothers, Hardin, James, and John Shubert; sisters, Lula Melson, Eula Markham, Bula Bratton, Molly Brewer.
Services will be held on Friday, April 2, 2010 at 3:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Home Chapel, Waynesboro, Tennessee, with Bobby Pinckley and Josh Stults officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Gardens at Waynesboro, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors of Wayne County directing. Visitation will be Thursday, April 1, 2010 from 5 pm to 9 pm and Friday, April 2, 2010 from 8 am to service time at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Kenneth Johnson, Jeremy Risner, Jerry Casteel, Paul Wood, Mike Wood, Ronald Staggs.
