Vincent DeGaetano

Pinson: Vincent DeGaetano, age 62, died Tuesday afternoon, July 22, 2008, as the result of a grounds keeping accident at Jones’ Creek Golf Course in Jackson.



Mr. DeGaetano was born in the Bronx, NY and grew up in Long Island, NY the son of Mary Riviello DeGaetano and the late Vincent DeGaetano. Vinnie worked in Florida for several years as an accomplished chef. He was married in 1991 to Betty Phillips of Amory, MS. They had made their home at Pinson the last 10 years. Mr. DeGaetano had worked as a truck deliveryman for Wicks Lumber Company, City Lumber Company, and Jenkins Lumber Company. He was currently working in grounds maintenance for Golf Links Management, LLC at Jackson’s Jones’ Creek Course.



He is survived by his wife: Betty Phillips DeGaetano, mother Mary Degaetano, two children; Michael DeGaetano of New York and Victoria DeGaetano of Iowa and two step children Russell A. Porter, III of Pinson and Kayley Porter of Henderson and three grandchildren. He has a brother Noel DeGaetano of Utah and two sisters Kitty Eynard of North Carolina and Jennie Cavalcanete of Florida.
