Vernon Douglas Blakely

Vernon Douglas Blakely was born July 16, 1925 in Selmer, TN the son of the late George Harrison Blakely and Ophie Sweat Blakely.
He was united in marriage to Lillie Louise Ferguson on April 7, 1945. Douglas was a member of Sulphur Springs Methodist Church and a member of the UAW Union. He has worked for ITT Automotive of Selmer, TN in the shipping department. He also was a farmer. Douglas love his family, gardening, hunting and fishing.
Mr. Blakely departed this life on March 19, 2013 at his home at the age of 87 Years, 8 Months, 3 Days.
He is survived by his wife Lillie Louise Blakely; a son, Douglas Roger Blakely and wife Linda; a grandchild, Kelli Blakely; a grt-grandchild, Kristin Blakely Davis all of Selmer, TN; a sister, Mary Grace Kiser of Bethel Springs, TN.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Blakely was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Kathleen Blakely; two sisters, Johnnie Pearl Ferguson, Willie Joe Dancer; and a brother, Warren Blakely.
