Velma Estelle Sells

She was born November 29, 1915 in Chester County, TN the daughter of the late Frank and Cora Peddy Seaton. She was educated in Chester County schools and received a teaching certificate from Freed-Hardeman College. She later attended Memphis State where she received a Master's Degree in Education. She was united in marriage to Cleo Sells in 1938. They made their home in the Friendship Community of Chester County. Mrs. Sells taught in the Chester County School System for over 30 years. She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association, The New Friendship Community Club, and the Friendship Baptist Church. She enjoyed bowling every Tuesday with her bowling group in the league in Jackson. Mrs. Sells was very active as recently as this past year. She also enjoyed gardening and quilting.



She was preceded in death by her husband, Cleo Sells in 1997 and a son-in-law, Larry Wright 2007.



She is survived by a daughter, Eva Mae Wright, a son, Dyke Sells both of Henderson, TN; a brother, George Seaton of San Bernardino, CA; a sister, Alene Frix of Memphis, TN; three grandchildren, Bruce Wright, Teresa Wright, Holly Pitcher; five great grandchildren, Jesica, Bailey, Jenifer, Lewis and Ryan; three great-great grandchildren, Caleb, Hunter and Ashtyn.
