Velma Pickens

Velma Scott Pickens was born August 23, 1918 in McNairy County, Tennessee the daughter of the late Lonzo C. and Johnnie Gladish Scott.Mrs. Pickens was a Factory Worker and Homemaker . She was a member of the Stantonville Church Of Christ in Stantonville, Tennessee.She was a member of McNairy County Hospital Auxiliary and the home demonstration club.Mrs. Pickens departed this life on January 27, 2008 in Adamsville, Tennessee at the age of 89 Years, 5 Months, 4 Days.She is survived by five sons, Buddy Pickens and wife Joan of Selmer, TN, T. L. Pickens and wife Sarah of Stantonville, TN, Larry Wayne Pickens and wife Sue of Stantonville, TN, Billy Joe Pickens and wife Nelda of Stantonville, TN, Roger Pickens and wife Rhonda of Stantonville, TN; 10 Grandchildren, 13 Great Grandchildren, 1 Great Great Grandchild.In addition to her parents, Mrs. Pickens was preceded in death by her husband, Rufus L. Pickens; a sister, Elzora Owens; two brothers, Troy and Gary Scott.
