Velma Allene Frye

Mrs. Frye passed away Friday evening at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
The widow of Alvin E. Frye, who died on Nov. 12, 2003, after 62 years of marriage, she was retired from Harmon Automotive, She was born to Pink Allen Medlock and Vennie Williams Medlock, both of whom preceded her in death and lived all of her married life here. Mrs. Frye was a member and Sunday School teacher for over 20 years at New Union Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Scarlett Earlene Ervin of Cordova; a son, Rev. Gary Frye of Medon; a brother, Wiliam Baxter Medlock of Detroit, Mich.; a sister, Joyce Ann Henderson of Jackson; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
