Velma Rhea Baker
was born on February 8, 1918 in Sardis, Tennessee the daughter of the late Isaac Garfield and Bessie M. Johnson Kennedy.
On October 9, 1937, she was united in marriage to Voyd Baker, who preceded her in death on February 26, 1997.
Mrs. Baker was a homemaker, a member of Morris Chapel Baptist Church and a member of the Eastern Star.
She departed this life on December 11, 2005 at Hardin Medical Center in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 87 years, 10 months and 3 days.
Mrs. Baker is survived by her son, Larry G. Baker, Sr. of Savannah, Tennessee;
3 grandchildren: Larry Glen Baker, Jr., Stanley G. Franks, and Cherry Lynn Sullivan
and 4 great-grandchildren: Jackie Lynn Sullivan, Cody Franks, Cory Franks and Colton Franks.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Ernest F. Kennedy and a sister, Vida Chalk.
