Vance Roberts

Vance Ramsey Roberts was born July 17, 1914 in New Albany, Mississippi the daughter of the late John Walter and Mary Elizabeth Speck Ramsey.



She was united in marriage to Troy McWhorter Roberts in 1928. Mr. Roberts preceded her in death on June 12, 1989.



Mrs. Roberts was a homemaker. She obtained her GED at the age of 90. She was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church in Selmer. She was also a member of Woodmen of The World, Ducks Unlimited, Selmer Senior Citizens Center.



Mrs. Roberts departed this life on April 26, 2006 in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 91 Years, 9 Months, 9 Days.



She is survived by four daughters, Betty Walker and husband Bill of Selmer, Tennessee, Jimmie Nell Roberts of Selmer, Tennessee, Helen Summers and husband Richard of Springfield, Tennessee, Edith Roberts of Michie, Tennessee; four sons, Bobby Roberts and wife Ruth of Selmer, Tennessee, Danny Roberts Sr. of Selmer, Tennessee, Troy Carlton Roberts and wife Ina of Selmer, Tennessee, Tony Roberts of Nashville, Tennessee; 16 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren, special friends, Eugene Varnell of Bethel Springs, Pat (Frankie) Smith of Selmer, Linda Wilson of Springfield, Tennessee. The staff and friends of the nursing home were also very special to her.



In addition to her husband and her parents, Mrs. Roberts was preceded in death by a son, Billy Roberts; three grandchildren, Timmy Roberts, Debbie Roberts and Michael Ray Roberts.
