Henderson, TN: Ural Stephen Cupples age 82, passed away April 19, 2010 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
He was born and reared in Chester County in the Chickasaw Park area, the son of the late Kennie Overton Cupples and Mary Stacey Wyatt Cupples Chimino. He attended Owens School and then Chester County High School. He entered the U.S. Army and served in the Army of Occupation in Germany at the conclusion of WWII. He lived in Memphis a few years and then in Detroit and was in the trucking business and then worked for General Motors in the transport division. He retired from General Motors in 1993 and moved to Henderson.
He married Jo Anne Garland in 1994. They made their home on Garland Road. They loved to travel and were members of the Holiday Ramblers Travel Club. They spent many winters in Florida. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Detroit and the Al Chymia Temple. He attended First Baptist Church in Henderson.
He is survived by his wife Jo Anne Orr Garland Cupples of Henderson; a son Steve Cupples of Mount Bethel, PA and three stepsons, David Garland and Jim Garland both of Henderson and John Garland of Arlington and a stepdaughter, Anne Vise of Parsons.
