Troy Wayne Smith

Troy Wayne Smith departed this life Thursday, October 24, 2013, at the age of 72 years, 11 months, 6 days.

He was born in Hardin County, Tennessee on November 18, 1940, the son of the late Samp Eloise and Captola White Smith. On December 26, 1957, he was united in marriage to Judith Rainey, who survives. Mr. Smith was self employed for most of his life in the trucking and construction business. He had previously worked for Preston Carroll Construction Company. He had driven over one million miles as a truck driver. He also had his solo pilot license. He loved to hunt, fish, and vegetable garden.

Mr. Smith had lived in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, Greenville, South Carolina, Charleston, West Virginia, Columbia, South Carolina, Charleston, South Carolina, West Palm Beach, Florida, Little Rock, Arkansas, and Camden, Arkansas. He was a member of Mt. Tyler Baptist Church in Charleston, West Virginia. Mr. Smith loved all music, and played lead and rhythm guitar for years in many different bands. He was a Godly man, loved his family and was a wonderful husband, father, and brother. He took his family to all the fun places he could.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Judith Rainey Smith of Savannah, Tennessee; daughters, Connie Poole and husband Bruce, Tammy Dawson and husband Tony all of Savannah, Tennessee; grandchildren, Kenneth Brashier, Kyle Ganus, Sarah Waddell, and Lacey Brashier; great grandchildren, Drew Brashier, Madison Brashier, Carter Robertson, Harlow Robertson, Case Waddell, and Emma Beth Ganus; sister, Barbara Ann Smith and husband Edgar of Savannah, Tennessee; a man he loved like a son, Don Brashier and wife Pat of Savannah, Tennessee.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Billy Gene Smith; sisters, Patricia Hill-Burns and Judy Gail Morgan; a son-in-law, Denny "Doc" Ganus.
