Troy V. McDaniel Sr. was born February 7, 1919 in McNairy County, Tennessee the son of the late Richard Marvin and Maudie Elma Chambers McDaniel.
He was united in marriage to Pauline Ashe McDaniel on November 17, 1945. Ms. McDaniel preceded him in death on March 29, 2004.
Mr. McDaniel was a retired Petroleum Technician at Hills Petroleum and was also self employed. He was a member of the Clear Creek Baptist Church and a Sergeant First Class of the United States Army during World War II with the HHC 3RD Battalion 505 Parachute Infantry Regiment 82nd Airborne Division, later served in the National Guard. He was Awarded the following medals; Bronze Star Medal, Combat Infantry Badge, Good Conduct Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with 1 Bronze Star and 1 Silver Star which is awarded for 5 Campaigns which means he participated in 6 Major Campaigns, he also is awarded the arrowhead device which is awarded for participating in an initial assault landing, World War II Victory Medal, Combat Infantryman's Badge and the honorable Service Lapel Button WW II.
Mr. McDaniel departed this life on April 2, 2007 in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 88 Years, 1 Month, 26 Days.
He is survived by five children; Alice Faye Whitley and husband John Harold of Selmer, Tennessee, Barbara Ruth Brown of Selmer, Tennessee, Pamela Marie Harris of Stantonville, Tennessee, Troy Vester McDaniel Jr. and wife Florence Annette of Bethel Springs, Tennessee, Paul Robert McDaniel and wife Cynthia of Lexington, Tennessee; two sister -n- laws, Viola McDaniel of Alabama and Ruby McDaniel of Union City, Tennessee; 13 Grandchildren and 17 Great Grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and his wife, Mr. McDaniel is preceded in death by two brothers; Gilbert Lee McDaniel and Roy Lester McDaniel.
