Travis Allen, age 78, of Middleton, departed this life Sunday evening, October 2, 2016 at Baptist Memorial Hospital East in Memphis.
The husband of Gloria Webb Allen, who survives, he was retired in 2003 from the Sequentia Corporation in Grand Junction after 22 years of employment. He was born January 25, 1938 in Middleton, son of the late Fred Daniel Allen and Mary Lucille Wells Allen and had lived most of his life in Hardeman County. A hard working man, he enjoyed traveling, hunting and fishing and was known best for loving to talk and telling some good jokes. His family states that he loved them very much, especially his grandson, and was a very good husband. Mr. Allen was a member of Rogers Springs Church of Christ.
In addition to his wife, whom he married on March 22, 1965, survivors include a son, William Leroy Allen of Martinez, California; a brother, Ricky Allen of Rogers Springs; a close family friend, Philip Tarrant of Martinez, CA; his grandson, Christopher Allen of Portland, OR; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and three brothers, Dennis, Bob and Eugene Allen. Memorial contributions in Mr. Allen's name may be made to the American Lung Association.
