Tommy E. Smith was born July 2, 1932 in Chester County, Tennessee the son of the late Lee Roy and Lora Lutrell Smith. He was united in marriage to Thelma Smith on July 16, 1952.Mr. Smith attended the United Pentecostals Church in Bethel Springs, Tennessee, played bluegrass on WDT radio station for over 15 years, school bus driver for over 10 years for McNairy County Schools, enjoyed gardening and fishing, served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.Mr. Smith departed this life on June 11, 2007 in Adamsville, Tennessee at the age of 74 Years, 11 Months, 9 Days. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Thelma Smith of Selmer, Tennessee; three sons, Ricky Smith and wife Jeannie of Selmer, Tennessee, Frankie Smith and wife Sharron of Savannah, Tennessee, and Glen Smith of Selmer, Tennessee; four sisters, Velma Gattles of Bethel Springs, Tennessee, Rachel Joyner of Bethel Springs, Tennessee, Reen Henry of Henderson, Tennessee, and Bessie Williams of Finger, Tennessee; two brothers, Kenneth Smith of Bethel Springs, Tennessee, and James Arthur Smith of Ramer, Tennessee; five grandchildren, Fonda Smith, Roger Smith, Mary Beth Smith, Cheyenne Smith, and Caleb Smith; two great grandchildren, Ty Smith and Laken Smith.In addition to his parents, Mr. Smith was preceded in death by two brothers, Elbert Smith and Sam Smith.
