Thomas Leech, 83, of Saulsbury, died Monday morning, March 27, 2006 at his home.
The husband of Maxine Johnson Leech, who survives, he retired from General Motors in 1980 as a training center manager. Mr. Leech was born July 9, 1922 in Jackson, Tenn., son of the late Thomas Joseph Leech, Sr. and Norma Annettie Williams Leech and lived in the Memphis area most of his life before making his home in Hardeman County in 1983. He served in the U. S. Navy as Radioman 3rd Class, was a communicant of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and was an avid golfer and fisherman.
Services were 10:00 AM Thursday, March 30, 2006 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Father Hood officiating. Burial was in Grand Valley Lakes (Ussary) Cemetery. Shackelford Funeral Directors of Bolivar were in charge of arrangements.
In addition to his wife, whom he married June 28, 1947, survivors include five sons, Tommy Hughes of Olive Branch, Miss., Bill Leech of Dallas, Tex., Steve Leech of Memphis, Lynn Leech of Orlando, Fla. and T. J. Leech of Olive Branch, Miss.; nine grandchildren; six great grandchildren; two sisters, Mildred Key of Memphis and Ann Leech-Jones of Franklin Park, NJ and one brother, Mike Leech of Nashville.
