Tommy Cooke



was born in Davidson County, Tennessee on April 26, 1941 the son of the late William Thomas Cooke, Jr. and Estelle Dever Cooke.



On February 21, 1960 he was united in marriage to Shirley Gammill of Clifton, Tennessee, who survives.



Mr. Cooke worked for Crounce Corp. for 34 years, he was a boat engineer. He had also worked for CCA for 3 years and worked construction for Preston Carroll for 4 years. He lived in the Clifton, Tennessee area all of his life. Mr. Cooke was an avid fisherman, small game hunter, and duck hunter. He enjoyed boating, riding his Harley motorcycle, and camping. Mr. Cooke was a member of the First Baptist Church in Clifton, United Steel Workers Union, and the NRA. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was known for his humor and story telling, he was loved by all who knew him.



Mr. Cooke departed this life at his residence on Thursday, July 17, 2008 at the age of 67 years, 2 months, 21 days.



In addition to his wife, Mr. Cooke is survived by two sons: William Thomas Cooke, IV and wife Kim of Savannah, Tennessee, Timothy Earl Cooke and wife Lorri of Clifton, Tennessee; two daughters: Amelia Joyce Cooke Pevahouse and husband Mark, Lori Estelle Cooke Davila and husband Robert all of Clifton, Tennessee; thirteen grandchildren: Jill Brown, Jennie Runions, Spence Cooke, Brandon Young, Carrie Cooke, Jake Cooke, Chloe Cooke, Haley Pevahouse, Hanna Pevahouse, Hunter Pevahouse, Ethan Blackburn, Avery Davila, and Abby Davila; five great-grandchildren: William Brown, Emma Brown, Walker Brown, Tucker Runions, Riley Runions, and Keeton Cooke Durham on the way.



In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Lottie Gammill.
