TOMMY ARMSTRONG

Pinson, TN: Tommy Glen Armstrong age 78 passed away June 18, 2018 at his home.
He was born August 22, 1939 in Madison County in the Diamond Grove Community, the son of the late Joseph Chaffee and Johnie Bell Moore Armstrong. He attended schools in Pinson and Mifflin.

He farmed for himself for several years then worked for Hunt Farms retiring in 2010 after 15 years from the job he loved. He enjoyed gardening, working on tractors and spending time with his grandsons.

Mr. Armstrong is survived by his wife of fifty-six years, Betty Jane Nash Armstrong of Pinson and a son, Andy Armstrong; two grandchildren, Dustin Armstrong and Tristin Armstrong; three sisters, Mary Lorell Rice, Minnie Mae Austin and Margaret Armstrong and three brothers, Noel Armstrong, Carl Lee Armstrong and Ted Armstrong.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Dot Armstrong and a brother, Charles Armstrong.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at Shackelford Funeral Directors – East Main with Ken Frye officiating. Burial will follow in New Friendship Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at East Main 12:00 PM Wednesday until service time at 2:00 PM.
