Thomas G. Dickey

Thomas G. Dickey was born October 26, 1904 in McNairy County, Tennessee the son of the late Tom and Molly Hicks Dickey. He was united in marriage to Vallie Blakely on August 22, 1922. Mrs. Dickey preceded him in death on April 14, 1994.Mr. Dickey was a farmer and carpenter. He was a member of the Guys Christian Church. He loved bluegrass music and playing the banjo. (He began playing at age 11 playing for dances.)He departed this life on August 22, 2007 in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 102 Years, 9 Months, 27 Days. Mr. Dickey is survived by four daughters, Marie Hogan of Michie, Tennessee, Martha Crane of Bethel Springs, Tennessee, Shelby Burns of Jackson, Tennessee and Elizabeth Plunk of Bethel Springs, Tennessee; 19 Grandchildren, 36 Great Grandchildren and 21 Great Great Grandchildren.In addition to his parents and his wife, Mr. Dickey was preceded in death by two daughters, Dorothy Willis and Sue Cobband two sons, Reo Dickey and Charles Dickey.
