Thomas E. Carothers of Selmer, Tennessee, was born on January 23, 1931, to the late Melvin Carothers and Vinnie Landreth Carothers. He was a retired maintenance worker with the Tennessee Department of Safety, a Korean War veteran, and a member of Court Avenue Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Selmer.Mr. Carothers died on Thursday, September 20, 2007, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital at the age of 76 years, 7 months, and 28 days.He is survived by his wife Dorothy Browder Carothers; two daughters, Melinda Rymut of Hartland, Wisconsin, and Mary Troutt of Selmer; a son, Allen James Carothers of Camp Pendelton, California; his sister, Jennie Ann Daniel and his brother Clarence Cook, both of Adamsville, Tennessee.5 GrandchildrenA host of other relatives and friends.Other than his parents, Mr. Carothers was preceded in death by a sister Mildred Gean.
