Thelma Jeter Beatty

Thelma Jeter Beatty of Waynesboro, TN was born January 31, 1931 in Savannah, TN the daughter of the late William Perry and Winefred Gallaher Bowling. Mrs. Beatty departed this life on Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at Hardin Medical Center in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 85 Years, 4 Months, 15 Days. She was preceded in death by her first husband, the father of her children, Robert Jeter, and her second husband, Billy Thomas Beatty. She was retired from Genesco and was a member of Wayne Furnace church of Christ.

She is survived by two sons, Larry Jeter and wife Nancy of Elizabethton, TN and William Thomas Jeter and wife Merlina of Clifton, TN, a daughter, Carol Jeter Culp and husband Si of Nashville, TN, three grandchildren, John Jeter, Robert Jeter, and William Culp, two great grandchildren, Larenzo Jeter and Henry Culp, brother, Malcolm Bowling of Knoxville, TN, four sisters, Sue Conway, Margaret Conway, and Rebecca Cole all of Clifton, TN, and Edna Woods of Savannah, TN. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Beatty was preceded in death by two brothers, Douglas Bowling and Dale Bowling, and a sister Dorothy Battles.

Services will be Saturday, June 18, 2016 at 3:00 PM at Clifton Church of Christ with Cary Crews officiating. Burial will follow in the Clifton Cemetery with Shackelford Funeral Driectors of Wayne County, directing. Visitation will be Saturday from 1:00-3:00 PM at the church. Pallbearers are John Jeter, Robert Jeter, William Culp, Carlie Cook, Thomas Cole, and Will Lattimore.

In lieu of flowers family requests memorial donations be given to Wayne Furnace Church of Christ, Clifton Church of Christ, or Butterfly Foundation.
