Terry L. Thrasher was born April 2, 1945 in Selmer, TN the son of the late William Leslie and Alice Irene Cierley Thrasher.
He was united in marriage to Cindy Vaughn on July 1, 1967.
Mr. Thrasher was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Adamsville, Tennessee. Over the years, he served the church in different capacities such as Chairman of the Deacons, Chairman of the building committee, Chairman of the pastor search committee and taught Sunday school. Not only was he a servant to his church but to his community as well. He was the Unit Director of McNairy County Rescue Squad and served on the National Committee, served as Fire Chief for Adamsville Fire Department and was presently serving as Fire Chief Emeritus and served on the 911 Board of Directors. He also served as Chairman of the Housing for the Elderly Board of Directors, an active member of McNairy County Senior Center, City Commissioner for Adamsville and was selected twice as Outstanding Emergency Person of the Year.
He retired from the City of Adamsville as City Administrator. He enjoyed traveling the world with his wife.
Mr. Thrasher departed this life on July 13, 2016 in Adamsville, Tennessee at the age of 71 Years, 3 Months, 11 Days. He is survived by his wife, Cindy Thrasher of Adamsville, TN; two daughters, Leslie Thrasher of Adamsville, TN, Kerri Murphy and husband Cliff of Swisher, IA; three grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Owen, and Weston Murphy; two brothers-in-law, Joe Vaughn and wife Jane of Adamsville, TN and Gary Vaughn and wife Elaine of Savannah, TN;
sister-in-law, Mitzi Sherrill and husband Mike of Jackson, TN; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Adamsville building fund or McNairy County Senior Center.
