Terry Cox

HENDERSON, TN;

Terry Cox, age 62, passed away Thursday, December 19, 2019.

He was born on June 14, 1957 and raised in Chester County, the son of Ural Haskle and Virginia Pearl Ligon Cox. He attended Chester County Schools. He joined the United States Air Force in 1974. He married Cheryl Greene May 3, 1982 and they made their home in Henderson. He was a home contractor and co-owner of Darryl Cox Construction.

He loved horses and Harley Davidson motorcycles and was a horse breeder. He was intelligent and quick-witted. After retiring due to disability, he helped as a primary care-giver for his mother-in-law, Sue Greene, for the last two years. He was proud of his daughter and grandchildren.
Terry is survived by his wife, Cheryl Lynn Greene Cox, a daughter, Tracie Lynn Terry (Travis) of Murfreesboro; his parents, Virginia and Haskle Cox; two sisters, Connie Austin (Tommy) of Henderson and Kim Barton (Darin) of Henderson; and four grandchildren, Payton Leech, Madelyn Leech, Brantley Terry and Paisley Terry.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Monday, December 23, 2019 at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Henderson – Crook Avenue Chapel with Wade Cox, Ken Kitchen and Mark Pendergrass officiating. The family will receive friends at Crook Avenue from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Sunday evening.
