Services for Tammy Russell Burns Nelson, age 45, of Westpoint, TN will be Saturday, February 4, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Shackelford Funeral Directors Chapel in Waynesboro with John Hodum and Travis Holloway officiating. Burial will follow in the Sims Ridge Cemetery in Lawrence County with Shackelford Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements.
A native of Wayne County, she was born November 4, 1966 a daughter of the late Goldie Yvonne Balentine Russell Rumbaugh and Gerald Wayne Russell who survives of Humboldt, TN. She died Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at Maury Regional Hospital in Columbia, Tennessee at the age of 45 Years, 2 Months, 28 Days. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by brothers, Buddy Wayne Russell and Ernest Keith Russell; and a sister, Donna Regina Brown; uncle, Lawton Junior Balentine; and grandmother, Gerdie Elizabeth Edwards. Mrs. Nelson, a homemaker, was married to Jon Nelson December 23, 2011.
Other than her father she is survived by her husband Jon Nelson of Westpoint, TN; a daughter, Callie Sanderson of Waynesboro, TN; a son, Brandon Burns of Waynesboro, TN; four grandchildren, Branden Aden Burns, Bentley Ryan Burns, Ashton Xavior Sanderson, Benjamin Isaiah Burns; brother, Pete Russell and wife Tonya of Florence, AL; sister, April Holloway and husband Michael of Florence, AL; several nieces, nephews, and friends.
