Syble Banks

Mrs. Syble Stults Banks departed this life on Monday, February 15, 2016 at her residence in Cypress Inn, Tennessee at the age of 88 Years, 4 Months, 28 Days. She was born September 18, 1927 in Florence, AL, the daughter of the late Dewey and Jewel Hanback Stults. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Banks was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Lem Hanback; sisters, Pauline West, Vinnie Skaggs, Sara Ellen Holt and Freda Joo; brothers, Ledford Stults and Jerry Stults.

She was united in marriage to Nolie Banks on July 9, 1944 and he preceded her in death on August 23, 1978.

Mrs. Banks was a retired factory worker and member of the Piney Grove Freewill Baptist Church since 1944.

She is survived by a son, John E. Banks and wife, Carolyn of Cypress Inn, TN, daughters, Lorene Melson and husband, Kenneth of Waynesboro, TN, Iva Hanback and Janice Richardson and husband, Jackie all of Cypress Inn, TN, and Norma Hanback and husband, Joe of Collinwood, TN; grandchildren, Beverly Melson, Shannon Gobbell and husband, Brent, Kim Griggs, Lem Hanback and wife, Margaret, Rachel Hanback, Jason Banks, Gabe Hanback, Mindy Stricklin and husband, Doug, Eric Banks and wife, Keeley, Kevin Richardson and wife, Whitney; great-grandchildren, Dave and Keisha Montgomery, Brittany and Madison Gobbell, Morgan Griggs, Isabella and Anna Beth Richardson, Weston and Daxton Banks and Syble Grace Stricklin; brothers, Ellis Stults and Ezell Stults both of Iron City, TN and Jimmy Stults of New Johnsonville, TN; and sister, Judy Bates of Summertown and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held on Thursday, February 18, 2016 at 1:00 PM at Piney Grove Freewill Baptist Church, Cypress Inn, Tennessee, with Greg Eaton, Marcus Morrow and Stephen Stults officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County directing.

Visitation will be Wednesday, February 17, 2016 from 5:00--9:00 pm at Shackelford Funeral Home, Collinwood, TN and Thursday, February 18, 2016 from 10:00 am until service time at Piney Grove Freewill Baptist Church, Cypress Inn, TN.

Pallbearers will be Lem Hanback, Jason Banks, Gabe Hanback, Eric Banks, Kevin Richardson, Brent Gobbell, Doug Stricklin and Ronald Henson. Honorary palbearers will be Dave Montgomery, Morgan Griggs, Weston and Daxton Banks.

Ms Syble requested that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be given to Piney Grove Cemetery Fund % Ginger Pigg, 5296 Jackson Cemetrey Road, Cypress Inn, TN 38452.
