Susie Jane Powell

She was born in Kerrville, TN, Shelby County, the daughter of Dorothy Jane DuBose Whitten Johnson. She graduated Chester County High School in 1964 and two years West Tennessee Business College. She was married to Alan Laurice Powell in 1969. She was employed in the Safety-Security Office with Merck Chemical and Pharmaceutical Company in Albany, GA. Mr. Powell died in 1997. She retired in 2000 and continued to live in the Sylvester Community near Albany. She moved to Bemis in July 2006 to be near her mother, Dorothy. She was a member of the ladies VFW Auxiliary.



She is survived by her mother, Dorothy Whitten Johnson of Jackson; uncles and aunts, Thomas & Annette DuBose of Jackson, Margie Jameson of Cordova, Mary Anderson of Anderson, SC and Warren DuBose of Yazoo City, MS and her mother-in-law, Aurellia M. Powell of Sylvester, GA.
