Sue Ione Floyd Ray was born November 11, 1945 in McNairy County, TN the daughter of the late Warren and Robbie McNatt Floyd.
Sue worked as a seamstress for Brown Shoe Company in Selmer for 22 years before retiring.
Sue lived what some might call a simple life. Her time was spent focusing on her relationship with the Lord and her family. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Bethel Springs and was saved in 1979. She loved her Sunday School class and shared a special bond with the ladies in the class. She always had an encouraging word for others at just the right moment. She was also a picture of perseverance. Sue battled many health issues. She was a breast cancer survivor and a kidney transplant recipient, having received a kidney from her son Jimmy 27 years to the day prior to her death. She enjoyed watching Bonanza, Gunsmoke, and other vintage programs when time permitted.
Sue departed this life on March 20, 2022 in Jackson, Tennessee at the age of 76 Years, 4 Months, 9 Days. She is survived by two sons, Jimmy Ray and wife Stephanie of Ramer, TN and Roger Dale Ray and wife Sherry of Pocahontas, TN; a daughter, Susan Hall and companion Scott Barmer of Michie, TN; eight grandchildren: Michael Ross and wife Dixie Ann, Krissy Pierce and husband Cory, Austin Cleveland and wife Melanie, Dustin Cleveland, Ryan Ray and wife Tiffany, Sam Ray and wife Brittany, Allie Smith and husband Canon, and Tristan Hall; two sisters, Judy Whitten of Oakland, TN and Jane Willis of Selmer, TN; and many extended family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Sue was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Ann Young, and five brothers: Johnny Floyd, Billy Stanley Floyd, James Floyd, Robert Floyd, and Pete Floyd.
