Steven Scott Taylor, born April 14, 1956 passed away March 12, 2015. Steve was well known for his many talents. He played with many local and national musicians and bands, including Turning Point, DeGarmo and Key, and MVP. All those who knew Steve loved his sweet, fun-loving spirit that sometimes led him into mischief. Steve was always there when a friend needed a laugh or a shoulder to lean on.
Steve was a native of Grand Junction, TN, and later moved to Olive Branch, MS. with his family. He struggled many years with Alzheimer's and other issues. He lived his last years at Graceland Nursing Home in Oxford, MS. where he was much loved by the staff.
He has gone to join his mother, Lee Ella Taylor and grandmother, Laverne Taylor plus other members of his family. Steve is survived by his wife Hollye Taylor, daughter Erika Taylor, and son Zachary Taylor. He leaves his father, James Murray Taylor, Jr. (Sharon); brothers James Murray Taylor III (Teresa Moran); Marc Taylor (Sue); sister-in-law Tina Forrester (Billy Poole), brothers-in-law, Preston Howle (Judy); Brady Howle; father and mother-in-law, William and Anita Howle, 5 nieces and 5 nephews and one greatniece. He also leaves his much loved caretakers, Janiece Bailey; LaCarla Moore and his nephew Brooks Taylor.
Visitation 12:00 p.m. and service 1:00 p.m. will be held Saturday, March 14th at First United Methodist Church, 380 Tippah, Grand Junction, TN 38039. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be sent to Alzheimer's Association at alz.org.
