Steve Umphrey

Steve Umphrey was born November 19, 1966 in Hardin County, Tennessee the son of the late Ross (Bill) Cornelius Umphrey and Lyda Evelyn Franks Smith.He was united in marriage to Amy Braswell on June 27, 1992.Mr. Umphrey was a Customer Service Rep for Penske in Adamsville, Tennessee and had previously worked for Aqua Glass. He enjoyed music and played the drums and sang in the band Sideways. He was a great father, great golfer. He enjoyed fishing and joking around with everyone. He loved his family and grandkids. Mr. Umphrey departed this life on August 9, 2008 in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 41 Years, 8 Months, 21 Days.In addition to his wife, Mr. Umphrey is survived by two daughters, April Umphrey of Savannah, TN, Skylar Umphrey of Savannah, TN; three sons, Stephen Umphrey Jr. of Savannah, TN, Avery Umphrey of Savannah, TN, Logan Umphrey of Savannah, TN; two sisters, Jan Russom of Counce, TN, Reba Martin of Waynesboro, TN; four grandchildren, Kayla Gracie Mae Franks, Audrie Jewel Franks, Dyllion Wade Franks, Carson Blaine Umphrey.In addition to parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Janie Darlene Umphrey; two brothers, Ross Umphrey Jr., Ronnie Gene Umphrey.
