Steve Mitchell

Steve Mitchell was born October 20, 1956 in Selmer, TN the son of Faye Hines Mitchell and the late W.K. Mitchell.

He was united in marriage to Mitzi Pettigrew on September 15, 1978.

Steve graduated in 1975 from McNairy Central High School and continued his edication at Jackson State Community College. He was affectionately pinned the nickname "Motor-Mouth-Mitchell" and he lived up to the name. Along with his gift of gab, he was a constant joker and prankster. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, fast cars, fishing, NASCAR, Memphis Grizzlies, CNN news, an animal lover and cooking for his family.

He was self-employed,Tri-Star Electronics, installing satellite dishes. He was the modern day Macgyver with his own rolls of tape. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Selmer.

Steve loved his family and will be dearly missed by all.

Mr. Mitchell departed this life on March 4, 2016 in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 59 Years, 4 Months, 13 Days. He is survived by his wife, Mitzi Mitchell of Selmer, TN; a daughter, Jill Keen and husband Tommy of Selmer, TN; a son, Blake Mitchell of Selmer, TN; mother, Faye Mitchell fo Selmer, TN; five grandchildren, Mekenzi Mitchell and husband Tyler, Luke and Halle Kate Keen,Trace and Jagger Mitchell; a great-grandchild, Annysten Reese Mitchell; two sisters, Ginger Murphy and husband Jim of Pompano Beach, FL, Kelly Atkinson and husband Ronnie of Selmer, TN; and a host of extended family and friends.
