Stanley Wayne Dickey was born on January 26, 1952, in Stantonville, Tennessee, to the late R.B. Dickey and Magel Glidewell Dickey.
On May 20, 1999, Stanley was united in marriage to Brenda Kennedy. Together, they built a life overflowing with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories. He was a devoted member of West Shiloh Baptist Church in Stantonville, Tennessee. A proud graduate of McNairy Central High School, Stanley furthered his education at Tennessee Technology Center in Crump, TN, and Crane School.
Stanley was a man of remarkable talent, known for his ability to repair or create just about anything. His diverse skills were evident throughout his career. He worked as a welder, mechanic, and crane and heavy machinery operator. His dedication to his craft led him to work on a pipeline project in Alaska before spending many years with Elam Trucking Company and Adamsville Sand and Gravel, later known as Martin Marietta Aggregates, from which he retired.
Stanley’s passions extended far beyond his work. He had a deep love for the outdoors and found joy in deer and dove hunting, archery, farming, and gardening. He treasured time spent at church, traveling, and most importantly, creating lasting memories with family and friends.
On January 24, 2025, Stanley passed away in Selmer, Tennessee, at the age of 72. He is survived by his loving wife, Brenda Dickey; his brother, Jimmy Dickey, and wife Charlotte; his stepbrother, Randy Scott; and his nieces and nephews: Allison Smith and husband Perry, Sharon Horsewood and husband David, Justin Droke and wife Hannah, and Cody Droke and wife Lauren. He was also adored by his great-nieces and nephews: Hunter Dickey, wife Lilly, and their son Elijah; Will, Calvin, and Sybil Smith; Max Horsewood; and Ruth Ann Droke.
In addition to his parents, Stanley was preceded in death by his stepmother, Annie Faye Dickey.
