Slater Elmo Howell, 78, of Silerton, died early Thursday morning, June 2, 2005 at his home.
The husband of Sue Howell, who survives, he was a farmer and carpenter. Mr. Howell was born January 18, 1927 in Hardeman County, son of the late Slater Nathaniel Howell and Nancy Leeoma Hooper Howell and lived here most of his life. He was a member of Palestine Baptist Church.
Services were 3 PM Sunday, June 5, 2005 at Shackelford Funeral Directors Bolivar chapel with Anthony Rowland and Bobby Bray officiating. Burial was in Silerton Cemetery.
In addition to his wife, whom he married February 21, 1953, survivors include three daughters and their husbands, Pat and Ricky Rowland of Henderson, Donna and Randy Tyson of Toone, Teresa and David Lambert of Silerton; one sister, Mary Sue Robinson Walls of Bernie, MO; five grandchildren, Michelle Jernigan, Stephanie Moore, Wesley Rowland, Matthew Tyson, Kimberly Tyson Schaefer and six great grandchildren, Brooke, Brittany and Hunter Jernigan, and Holly, Nathan and Hannah Moore.
