SIDNEY J. LEDBETTER
Was born in Saltillo, Tennessee on July 10, 1920 the son of the late James L. and Agnes McDougal Ledbetter.
On April 21, 1946 he was united in marriage to the former Laverne Milam, who survives.
Mr. Ledbetter was a chemist for 18 years for TRP&P and was an inspector for the State of Tennessee Hazardous Waste Department for 20 years. He was a United States Army Air Corps. Veteran of World War II. Mr. Ledbetter was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
He departed this life on December 3, 2005 at the Regional Hospital in Jackson, Tennessee at the age of 85 years, 4 months and 23 days.
Other than his wife, Laverne of Savannah, Mr. Ledbetter is survived by 2 daughters, Nancy Powell of Savannah, Martha Wolff and her husband Michael Richard of Burlington, North Carolina.
One son, Sidney C. Ledbetter and his wife, Marcy Boston of Tullahoma, Tennessee.
8 grandchildren, Anne Elizabeth Powell, George Andrew Powell, Jordan Alexander Powell, Daniel Christian Wolff, Christopher Michael Wolfe, Lillian Elise Wolff, Matthew Sidney Ledbetter and Stephen Boston Ledbetter.
2 sisters, Anna Mary Byram of San Antonio, Texas and Willie Kate Williams of Johnson City, Tennessee.
2 brothers, Alexander McDougal Ledbetter of Waynesboro, Virginia and Roy McDougal Ledbetter of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee.
Mr. Ledbetter was also preceded in death by 3 brothers, Joe Neal, Jim and Edwin Ledbetter.
