Shirley Ann Williams

Shirley Ann Cossar Williams passed from this life Wednesday morning, January 23, 2019 at Bolivar General Hospital.

Shirley was a native and life-long resident of Hardeman County. Her parents were the late William Robert and Grace Ella Maddox Cossar. She was a 1959 graduate of Bolivar Central High School and on Friday, February 12, 1965, she was united in marriage to Thad Williams, who survives.

Mrs. Williams retired from the Personnel Department at Western Mental Health Institute after 38 years of service. She previously had worked at Harvell-Kilgore in Bolivar. In her leisure time, she enjoyed researching genealogies, photography, cooking, cross stitching and her cats. She was a member of the Bolivar First Baptist Church.

Survivors are her husband, Thad, of Bolivar; her brother, William Robert "Bo"Cossar of Bolivar; her sister, Betty Lou Jacobs of Bolivar; and her sister-in-law, Charldean Trout of Bolivar.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters.
