Shirley Jo Clayton Staggs

Shirley Jo Clayton Staggs of Waynesboro, TN was born July 12, 1942 in Wayne Co., TN, the daughter of the late Ernest Calvin and Ella Nora Smith Clayton. She was united in marriage to Thomas Junior Staggs on December 14, 1961 and he preceded her in death on May 20, 2018.

Mrs. Staggs was retired from Genesco and departed this life on Thursday, December 19, 2019 at Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia, Tennessee at the age of 77 Years, 5 Months, 7 Days.

She is survived by a son, Chris Staggs of Waynesboro, TN; daughters, Debbie Sherrill and husband, Joe of Drayton, ND, Tina Hudgins of Collinwood, TN, Lisa Jones and husband, Casey of Waynesboro, TN and Kim McCurry all of Waynesboro, TN and Brandi King and husband, Neal of Hohenwald, TN; grandchildren, Kelsey, Jana Beth, Michael, Ciara, Cassie, Hunter and Caylee; great-grandchildren, Caysen, Ava and Aniston; a brother, Teddy Clayton and wife, Patricia of Waynesboro, TN.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Staggs was preceded in death by a brother, Buddy Clayton and a sister, Pat Clark.

Services will be held on Saturday, December 21, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors chapel, Waynesboro, Tennessee, with Casey Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens, Waynesboro, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County assisting the family. Visitation will be Saturday, December 21, 2019 from 10 am to service time at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Ernie Clayton, Alan Clayton, Kevin Clayton, Teddy Clayton, Jason Wizer and Neal King.
