SHIRLEY HEARN POUNDS
Henderson, Tennessee: Shirley Hearn Pounds, age 77 passed away June 01, 2013 at her home in Henderson, Tennessee.
She was born and reared in the Montezuma Community of Chester County, Tennessee. She was the daughter of the late Bryce Wilson and Mary Evelyn Saxton Hearn. She went to school in Chester County and began working at Salant and Salant Manufacturing in Henderson in the 1960’s. Then in 1971 she went to work at Quaker Oats in Jackson and in 1988 she retired after 27 years of work. She enjoyed traveling all over the World. She also enjoyed baby setting her great nieces and nephews. Shirley was also an avid New York Yankee baseball fan. She was a member of the Sanford Hill Baptist Church.
She is survived by a brother, Bill Hearn and wife Cheryl of Henderson and two nephews, Terry Hearn and wife Connie and Barry Hearn and wife Shannon all of Henderson and a niece, Nita McAdoo of Murfreesboro; three great nieces, Beth Plunk and husband Nicky of Bethel Springs, Tracey Tucker and Allison Clemans and a great nephew, Nick Hearn and wife Felicia of Savannah.
Funeral services were at 11:00 AM on Wednesday at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Casey Chapel with Ken Frye and Troy Frye officiating and burial will follow in Chester County Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends at Casey Chapel beginning at 5 PM Tuesday.
