Shirley Ann Pickenswas born in Hayti, Missouri on January 20, 1927 the daughter of the late George Walter and Shirley Ricketts Robertson.On August 20, 1945 she was united in marriage to Ross Pickens, who preceded her in death on October 7, 2008.Mrs. Pickens had worked for Walker Elementary School as a cook and had worked been a factory worker. She was a member of Graham Methodist Church, Woodman of the World, and the Ladie's Club. Mrs. Pickens was a loving mother, devoted wife, and a friend to all in need. She took great care of her widowed mother for years. Mrs. Pickens departed this life on December 5, 2010 at the age of 83 years, 10 months, 15 days.Mrs. Pickens is survived by 2 sons, Jimmy Ross Pickens of Florence, Alabama and Donald Lee Pickens of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida; a daughter, Brenda Ann Pickens Tedford of Savannah, Tennessee; a sister, Barbara Fay Petty of Savannah, Tennessee; 16 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Raymond Jerrolds; 2 brothers, Johnny Robertson and Glenn Robertson; 4 sisters, May Shelby, Edith Lack, Alice Robertson, and Mary Robertson; 2 grandchildren, Abbe Pickens and Charles Ray Jerrolds.
