Shirley McAlpin Gurley

Shirley McAlpin Gurley, 75, of Bolivar, passed away Tuesday evening, February 8, 2022, at Bolivar General Hospital.

She was born Thursday, September 26, 1946, in Hardeman County, daughter of the late Buford Edward McAlpin and Ollie Mae Hodge McAlpin and lived all of her life here. She was a homemaker and enjoyed coloring in her adult coloring books, sewing and going to the Senior Citizens Center where they would play Bingo and go on field trips, but especially loved spending time with her family, including her great nieces and nephews. She was devoted to and cared for her precious miniature poodle, "Ben". Ms. Gurley was a member of Hebron Baptist Church.

Survivors include her daughter, Rita Nuckolls (Kim), of Bolivar; two sister, Ruth Kirk (Travis) and Becky Harbin (Mark), all of Henderson; a brother, Glen McAlpin of Middleton; nieces and nephews, Amy Busby (Nick), Brandi Beshires (John), Michelle Cartwright (Jeremy), Tim McAlpin, Steve McAlpin (Lena) and Gina Tulley (Corey); and several great nieces and nephews.
