Mrs. Mathis passed away July 7, 2008 at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro, AR.
The wife of Joe Mathis, whom she married September 24, 1990, she was a former bookkeeper in Bedford, Virginia. She was born January 26, 1942 to the late John and Kathleen Smalley Moore in Middleton, TN and graduated with the class of 1960 from Bolivar Central High School. She had lived in Arkansas since 1990. She was a member of the Brookland church of Christ, an active member in the Republican Party in Jonesboro and loved her family and dogs.
In addition to her husband, survivors include one daughter, Cheryl L. Pare-Ikley of Richmond, VA; one son, Glen Ronald Pare of Forest, VA; four sisters, Barbara Chappell of Bolivar, TN, Doris Gibbons of Lakeland, TN, Jane Clark of Bolivar, TN and Sue Jaggars of Olive Branch, MS; three brothers, James Moore of Hot Springs, AR, John Moore of Hot Springs, AR and Glen Moore of Bolivar, TN; five grandchildren, Brittany Pare, Jamie, Nicholas, Megan and Jackson Ikley; and two beloved dogs, “Daisy†and “Molly.â€
