Shirley Hollis McGee Long, 70, passed away at her home on Buttermilk Ridge Road on Monday, November 21, 2005 after a year's battle with cancer.
A native of Wayne, MI, she was of the Church of God faith, was a lifetime member of both the Ladies Auxillary of the VFW and the local VFW Post 1618, and was a homemaker. She was active in charity and veterans affairs and enjoyed working outdoors on the farm, playing music, and singing.
Mrs. Long was preceded in death by parents, Wylie Thomas and Etla Rose Hollis McGee, husband, Earl E. Long, and brothers, Stanley, Thomas, Roy Frank, and Douglas McGee.
Survivors, daughter, Joan (Travis) Bradley, grandsons, Jared (Crystal) Bradley and Chad Bradley all of Wayne County, sisters,
Dolores (Frank) Gray, Laswrenceburg, TN, Kathleen (Billy Joe) Lopp, Westpoint, TN, Francis McGee Rochelle, Huntsville, AL, brother, Kenneth (Debbie) McGee, Hazel Green, AL, nieces and nephews.
