Shirley K. King was born February 14, 1944 in McNairy County, TN the daughter of the late James Ancil and Roberta Smith Ferguson.
She was united in marriage to Larry King on November 16, 1962.
Mrs. King worked for 11 years at Sears. She retired from Regions Bank after 27 years of dedicated service to the banking industry and customers of McNairy County. She started out with Selmer Bank & Trust which was bought by Union Planters then by Regions. She was a member of the Sulphur Springs United Methodist Church in Selmer, Tennessee.
Ms. Shirley had a wonderful sense of humor, a friendly smile, and always a kind word. She loved all her animals, including her consistent-crowing-deck flying Americana rooster, and her beautiful flowers and roses. She enjoyed taking naps or as she always said, "she was just resting her eyes."
She will be greatly missed by her family, church family and friends.
Mrs. King departed this life on January 6, 2018 in Memphis, Tennessee at the age of 73 Years, 10 Months, 23 Days. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Larry King of Selmer, TN; father-in-law, Eldridge King of Selmer, TN; two grandchildren, Alise (Duncan) McDaniel and husband Zach of Jackson, TN, Peyton Dewayne Duncan of Selmer, TN; two great grandchildren, Ahylvia and Haivyn McDaniel; two sisters, Jo Ann Garrison and husband Clyde of Stantonville, TN, Lisa Lipford and husband Ray of Lexington, TN; brother-in-law, Lonnie King of Selmer, TN; sister-in-law, Carolyn Ferguson of Selmer, TN; and a host of extended family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. King was preceded in death by a daughter, Sherri Renee King Duncan on June 11, 2016; two sisters, Patsy Ferguson King, Debbie Ferguson; a brother, Oneal Ferguson.
