Shirley Kilburn

Mrs. Shirley Ann Caperton Kilburn departed this life on Friday, April 26, 2019 at Waynesboro Health and Rehabilitation Center in Waynesboro, Tennessee at the age of 72 Years, 6 Months, 12 Days. She was born October 14, 1946 in Wayne County, TN the daughter of the late Paul Neal and Maxie McGee Caperton.

She was united in marriage to Chester Mack Kilburn on December 24, 1965. Mr. Kilburn preceded her in death on January , 28, 2003.

Mrs. Kilburn was a homemaker .

She is survived by sons, Michael Wayne Kilburn of Leoma, TN, Jeffery Neal Kilburn of Iron City, TN, Timothy Scott Kilburn of Jamestown, TN, Kenneth Lance Kilburn of Waynesboro, TN, Jason Curtis Kilburn of Waynesboro, TN, daughters, Susan Ann Vaughn of Iron City, TN, Melinda Gail Staggs of Lawrenceburg, TN, Jennifer Leigh Cox of Birmingham, AL, Tricia Nicole Payne of Cullman, AL, grandchildren, Allie Thrasher, Hunter Hanback, Alex Vaughn, Shaila Vaughn, Samantha Staggs, Joshua Wright, Dominique Reeves, Ariel Reeves, Nevada Kilburn, Zachary Kilburn, Kenzy Payne, Bailey Kilburn, Leland Kilburn, great grandchild, Kain Thrasher, brothers, Stanley Caperton of Leoma, TN, Frank Caperton of Lawrenceburg, TN, Edward Caperton of Lawrenceburg, TN, sisters, Lois Butler of Lawrenceburg, TN, Ruth Hayes of Sheffield, AL.


In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Kilburn was preceded in death by two brothers, Larry Caperton, Paul Caperton Jr., three sisters, Edith Stults, Neva Odle, Billie Jean Dodd.

Services will be held on Monday, April 29, 2019 at 3:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Home in Waynesboro, Tennessee, with Jim Martin and Jimmy Pearcy officiating. Burial will follow in Copeland Cemetery, Collinwood, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors of Wayne County in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation will be on Sunday, April 28, 5:00-9:00 pm and on Monday, April 29, 8:00 am until service time @ Shackelford Funeral Home, Waynesboro.
