Shirley Vandiver Elliott, age 60, passed away March 27, 2008, as a result of injuries received in the same accident which took the life also of her sister and best friend, Mary Jo Patterson of Bartlett, March 26, 2008.
She was born in Finger, TN the daughter of the late Henry and Josie Wharton Vandiver, she attended school in McNairy County. She worked for several years at Kolpak in Selmer. She enjoyed camping and the great outdoors.
She is survived by a daughter Crystal Elliott of Lexington; a son, Randy Elliott (Bridget) of Stantonville and a grandchild, Landon Magers Elliott; and a brother, Ronnie Vandiver.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Doug and Gene Vandiver.
Joint funeral services, with her sister, Mary Jo Patterson, will be 2:00 PM, Sunday, Shackelford Funeral Directors-Johnson Chapel, with Bro. Billy Robbins officiating and burial will follow in Sweetlips Cemetery in Chester County.
The family will receive friends at Johnson Chapel 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Saturday.
