SHIRLEY SCOTT BAILEY
Jacks Creek, TN: Shirley Jane Scott Bailey age 78 passed away Thursday September 3, 2014 at her home.
She was born November 8, 1935 in Chester County, the daughter of the late Elias Issac and Lena Fowler Scott. She was married to Kermit Bailey, Jr. February 9, 1952. They made their home in Jacks Creek. She worked for I Appeal, Chester Manufacturing and Salant & Salant Mfg. Mrs. Bailey was a member of the Shiloh Baptist Church and she enjoyed quilting, antiques, fishing and reading.
She is survived by her husband, Kermit Bailey, Jr. of Jacks Creek; two daughters, Sherry Connor and husband Jimmy of Jacks Creek and Sharon Bedwell and husband Mark of Jackson; a son, Steven Bailey and wife Lisa of Milan; five grandchildren, Kyle Connor (Sara Beth), Stephanie Brook Bailey, Justin Ryan Epperson, Katie Elizabeth Bedwell and Mark Anthony Bedwell; two great grandchildren, Braxtyn Connor and Deacon Connor and three sisters, Ann Jordan, Barbara Rhodes and Betty Swafford of Jacks Creek.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Delma Liles, Dorothy Latham and Lavelle Newsom and three brothers, Thomas Scott, Jerome Scott and L.C. Scott.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Saturday at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Johnson Chapel with Rev. Sammy McAdams officiating and burial will follow in Bailey Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Johnson Chapel 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM Friday.
