Sharon Gilchrist Mathers

Sharon Gilchrist Mathers was born October 22, 1947 in Grove Hill, AL the daughter of the late George G. and Eunice Lee Hinson Gilchrist. She was united in marriage to Michael Gene Mathers on July 7, 1967. Mrs. Mathers attended the Collinwood Church of God for many years. Sharon was a loving wife, mother, and friend, She was a beautiful saint of God, a very anointed teacher of the Word, a powerful prayer warrior and loved to sing Gods' Praises. Mrs. Mathers departed this life on Friday, October 28, 2022 in Columbia, TN at the age of 75 years, and 6 days.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Michael Gene Mathers of Waynesboro, TN; a daughter, Cindy Mathers Hollis and husband Cory of Fayetteville, TN; a sister, Sandra "Sandie" Morgan and husband William of Waynesboro, TN; a nephew, Jordan Kiddy of Savannah, TN and his daughter, Remi Kiddy-Bradley; and several other nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Monday, October 31, 2022 from 12:00 pm until 1:00 pm service time at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Waynesboro, TN.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 31, 2022 at 1:00 pm at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Waynesboro, TN, with Nelson Moffett officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Gardens at Waynesboro, TN.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made in her name to a charity of your choice.
