Sharron Beard Hopper
was born in Martling, Alabama on November 15, 1938, the daughter of the late William Campbell and Bonnie Mae Beard.
On January 28, 1961 she was united in marriage to James A. Hopper, who preceded his wife in death on June 18, 2007.
Sharron was a Registered Nurse for Hardin Medical Center until her retirement in 1996. She was a lifelong Methodist and was a member of Savannah Methodist Church. Sharron was also a charter member of the Savannah Junior Auxiliary, former board member of Quinco Mental Health Center, and started Savannah Reading, a fundamental reading program. In her spare time she loved to read, travel, spend time with her "Wine Time Girls" and with her family, especially her children and grandchildren. Sharron always said her family was her greatest accomplishment.
She departed this life on Thursday, May 30, 2024 in Killen, Alabama at the age of 85 years, 6 months, and 15 days.
Sharron is survived by her sons, Russell Hopper and his wife Andrea of Killen, Alabama and Guy Hopper and his wife Rachel of Knoxville, Tennessee; grandchildren, Stephanie Nidiffer and her husband Robbie, Matthew Hopper, Ben Hopper and his wife Candace, Madalyn Jordan and her husband Will, Anna Hopper, and Alex Hopper; great grandchildren, Braxton McSwain, Della Hopper, Bridgley Hopper, Jemma Hopper, Campbell Nidiffer, and Channing Nidiffer; sister, Josephine Roy of Nashville, Tennessee; and brothers, William Skip Beard and his wife Carla of Gautier, Mississippi, and Wayne Beard and his wife Debbie of Collierville, Tennessee.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Curtis Freeman Hopper.
