On January 13, 1968 she was united in marriage to Thomas Akin. Mrs. Akin worked as a customer service representative and was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church.
She departed this life on December 9, 2005 at Decatur County General Hospital in Parsons, Tennessee at the age of 58 years, 6 months and 26 days.
Mrs. Akin is survived by her husband, Tommy Akin of Bath Springs, Tennessee;
3 daughters: Cindy Akin of Saltillo, Tennessee, Angela Tucker of New Ross, Indiana, and Amanda Thornton of Franklin, Tennessee;
6 grandchildren: Shawn Thomas Polley, Nicholas Polley, Mallory Tucker, Kelly Tucker, Madison White, and Abby Thornton;
and her mother, Melba Campbell of Saltillo, Tennessee.
