Shane "Tennessee" Sweat

Shane (Tennessee) Sweat, born on May 8, 1981, in Selmer, TN, passed away on September 16, 2023, in Michie, Tennessee at the age of 42. He was the beloved son of Kay Landreth and the late Randall Floyd Sweat.

Throughout his life, Shane was known as "Tennessee" due to his many years of work as a dedicated welder and iron worker all across the country. He possessed an unwavering passion for his craft and was recognized for his remarkable skills. Shane spent numerous years at Mid-South Industrial in Bells, TN and had recently joined BMSI in Burnsville, MS.

When he wasn't working diligently with metal and fire, Shane found solace in nature's beauty. Riding horses and kayaking held a special place in his heart. Additionally, he had an appreciation for flowers that blossomed during his early employment at Wildwood Farms Nursery. Over time, his talent for crafting primitive Native American pieces flourished as he created heartfelt gifts for loved ones.

Shane found great joy in the warmth of family ties and faith. He cherished attending People's Tabernacle Church in Savannah, TN alongside his loved ones. Most importantly, he was an extraordinary father who embraced not only his own daughter Gracie Jewel Sweat but also treated his stepdaughters: Kaley Pettigrew, Allison Edwards, Ava Edwards, and Parker Mullins as his own.

Left to cherish Shane's memory are his mother, Kay Landreth and her husband Jeff of Adamsville, TN; his fiance', Jessie Bryant of Stantonville TN; daughter, Gracie Jewel Sweat of Stantonville TN; step daughters, Kaley Pettigrew, Allison Edwards, Ava Edwards, Parker Mullins all of Stantonville, TN; brother, Ashley Oneal Sweat of Adamsville TN; nephews, Tyler Lane Belk and Alex Aden Sweat; niece Allura Jewel Sweat; great-nephew Oakland Kaine Sweat; as well as a multitude of extended family members and dear friends.

Shane was preceded in death by his father, Randall Floyd Sweat; maternal grandparents, John and Jewel Sanders; paternal grandmother, Oma Sweat; paternal grandfather, Floyd "Ben" Sweat along with his wife Ann.

During his time with us, Shane left an indelible mark on the lives he touched. His dedication as a skilled welder, his love for the outdoors, and his ability to create beautiful crafts will forever be treasured. He will be remembered as a kindhearted father, partner, son, brother, uncle, and friend whose presence brought warmth and love into the lives of those fortunate enough to have known him.
