Sarah Louise Whitten

April 1, 1944 — December 24, 2024

Mrs. Sarah Louise Whitten, beloved wife of Robert Glynn Whitten, blessed mother to Angie Nicole and Robert Adam, makes her final transition to a place that knows no sorrow and holds no pain.

In addition to Robert, Angie and Adam, she leaves behind her beloved sister, Charlotte Ann Adams, daughter-in-law, Cassie Elisa and her perfect grandbabies, Shiloh Rain, Meadow Storm and Willow Teal Whitten.

Mrs. Sarah Whitten was born on Goat Island, MS but spent much of her childhood growing up between Detroit and MS. In 1969 she met Robert Whitten and they subsequently married on Nov 23rd, 1973. First giving birth to a baby girl, Angie Nicole, in Oct 1974, and then a baby boy, Robert Adam, in Jan 1976.

In addition to being passionate and loving in her role as Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt and Friend, Mrs. Whitten was also an activist and member of the Cherokee Tribe of Mississippi who led a remarkable life as a model for the Ford Motor Company in Detroit and later, owning her own real estate company. Her passion and work in real estate led to multiple accomplishments and awards.

But her true passions were in life’s simpler things. She loved her family, She loved the ocean and the mountains. She loved the music of Otis Redding and Memphis/Detroit soul. She loved a good prank and a good laugh.

Above all that she loved, she loved her husband, Robert, with whom she shared 54 years.

Mrs. Sarah Whitten was preceded in death by her parents, Thurman "Bud" Adams and Annie Bell Monroe Adams, and her sister, Betty LaJane Collins.

She leaves only the physical things behind. But her love will never leave, through it she lives on and remains with us for eternity.
