Services for Sarah Vedie (Butler) Thompson, age 89, of Collinwood, TN will be Monday, June 2, 2008 at 3 pm at First Baptist Church in Collinwood with Junior Daniel and Ernest Rich officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens, Collinwood, with Shackelford Funeral Directors of Wayne County directing. Pallbearers will be Brent Thompson, Keith and Alan Hensley, Randy and Jeff Holt, and Junior Haddock. Honorary pallbearers will be Heath Daniels, Stan and Josh Hensley, Timothy and Matthew Holt, and Nicholas Thompson. She was preceded in death by her parents, Pose and Lillie Daniel Butler; her husband; Melvin J. Thompson; daughter and son-in-law; Vera and Landon Haddock; sister, Versie Holt; and brothers, Jessie Butler and Jimmy Butler. Mrs. Thompson depart this life at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee on Thursday, May 29, 2008. She was born February 2, 1919 in Wayne County, Tennessee. Mrs. Vedie was a member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church and a homemaker.
